Niigata University signed an Exchange Agreement with Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan
Niigata University signed an exchange agreement with Chung Yuan Christian University (Taoyuan, Taiwan) on July 13, 2010 in order to enhance academic and student exchange between the two universities.
Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) is a private comprehensive university that houses 7 undergraduate schools (Science; Engineering; Business; Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Design; Law; Humanities and Education) offering 27 undergraduate programs as well as graduate programs including 13 doctoral courses. CYCU has been awarded by the Ministry of Education the first prize for 4 consecutive years since 2005 for its promotion of higher education and personality development. As a result, it has won a total of 1 billion yen as education grants. CYCU excels in research, ranking the 15th among all 170 universities in Taiwan according to the Ministry of Education. The number of citation ranked first among Taiwanese private universities in 2007.
The agreement was made possible thanks to the efforts of Niigata University’s Faculty of Science and CYCU counterparts that had continued to strengthen ties through research and student exchange for over 6 years. The agreement is expected to help further student exchange offering opportunities to students of all majors. A double-degree graduate program is also being planned as part of the “Global Circus Project” of the Graduate School of Science and Technology.
