Niigata University signed an Exchange Agreement with China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)
Niigata University signed an exchange agreement with China University of Geosciences(Wuhan) (Hubei Province, China) on April 23, 2010.
One of the leading universities of national emphasis, China University
of Geosciences (Wuhan) is among 49 top universities taking part in a national
policy to enroll 5,000 international students in Chinese universities.
With 1,300 full-time teachers and 20,000 students, CUG (Wuhan) is the nation's
largest university specialized in Geosciences.
A top-runner in the field of geosciences, CUG (Wuhan) has a geosciences museum and a library with an extensive collection of geosciences-related references and books from all over the world. As a comprehensive university it also has faculties of engineering, science, law and economics, and offers abundant opportunities for education as well as for basic and applied scientific research in areas related to geosciences, natural resources and environmental sciences.
Niigata University's Faculty of Science has continued to exchange with
CUG (Wuhan) for the past two decades through organizing international symposiums
and student exchange programs. A faculty-level exchange agreement was signed
between CUG (Wuhan) and Faculty of Science and Graduate School of Science
and Technology in 2003. Active engagement by both universities has led
to the university-level exchange agreement. We hope to increase opportunities
for student exchange for students of all majors. A double-degree program
for doctoral students is also being designed as part of the "Global
Circus Project" of the Graduate School of Science and Technology.
