Structure of the Japanese Language Program
Niigata University's Japanese Language Program is largely divided into two courses: INTENSIVE COURSE that requires students to attend 10 classes per week, and REGULAR COURSE that offers various class options according to students' levels.

| Application Period and Procedure | Guidance and a placement test will be given on April 5 and 6 (Thu~Fri).
To enroll, students must attend this guidance session and take the placement
test on either day. Schedule for either April 5 and 6: - 9:30-10:10 Guidance - 10:20-11:00 Placement test (written) - 14:00- Placement test (oral) Place: Room D301 in Sogo-kyoiku-kenkyu-to bldg.(next to International Office) The result of the placement test will be shown at International Office at the morning on Monday April 9. Students who want to take intensive Japanese course must take the placement test. |
- Attend the first class on Monday May 21 for registration. - There will not be a placement test. Students must choose their levels of Japanese. - We are not responsible for judging the students' Japanese levels for this course. However, for those who cannot decide which class to take, self-judgment test will be available at International Office from Thursday April 5. |
For each subject, attend the first class for registration. There will not be a placement test. |
