What to do if you have an infectious disease (updated on April 9, 2024)
If you have symptoms such as fever, or if you feel unwell, please refer to the following measures.
- Be mindful of "wearing a mask" and "refraining from going out."
- If you feel unwell, check for infection using a commercially available antigen test kit* (see Note) or consult your family doctor as necessary. If you do not know where to see a doctor or if you need to consult a physician when your health deteriorates, please go to the Health Administration Center. You can also use the "AI救急相談アプリ(AI Emergency Consultation App, Japanese only)," which provides you with further advice on the necessity of seeing a doctor or how to deal with the symptoms via LINE. ※(Note) Choose an antigen test kit product labeled as "体外診断用医薬品(In-vitro diagnostic drug)" or "第一類医薬品 (First-class OTC drugs)."It can be purchased at pharmacies, drugstores, and on the Internet. Some test kits are sold for "研究用(research use)," but their performance has not been verified by the government.
If the novel coronavirus test is positive or you are diagnosed with any other school infectious diseases, please refer to the following measures.
- Students will contact Academic Affairs office, and staff members will promptly notify General Affairs office about the diagnosis by phone or email.
- Answer Questionnaire (in Japanese) of Niigata University Health Administration Center. ※You can access the Questionnaire form via Health Center Japanese website (click"感染症登録はこちらから"link on the left side on the page.)
Voluntary refraining from leaving the house in case of new coronavirus infection:
Refrain from going out for a period of 5 days from the day onset (Day 0). If symptoms persist on Day 5, refrain from going out until 24 hours have passed since symptoms, such as fever, phlegm, sore throat, etc., abate. Wearing a mask is recommended until 10 days have passed after the onset of the symptoms. Also please refrain from contacting those at high risk of aggravation such as elderly people.
