2022 Graduation Ceremony

Niigata University held its 2021 Graduation Ceremony at Toki Messe in Chuo-ku, Niigata City on Wednesday, March 23.

A total of 3,069 students were awarded a degree or completion certificate: 2,359 bachelor's degrees, 656 graduate degrees, 4 doctorate degrees by dissertation, and 50 graduate degrees in the school nurse program. Also, among the 2,359 students with bachelor's degrees, 50 students were awarded minor certificates, authorized for their special academic achievements outside their majors.
At the ceremony, President USHIKI presented the relevant diplomas, certificates of completion and minor certificates to the representatives of the graduating students receiving bachelor's degrees, graduate degrees, nursing teaching degrees and minor certificates.

President USHIKI then congratulated the graduates, saying, “Niigata University is your alma mater and your home. Take the step toward the future with the pride you learned at Niigata University. Niigata University is always behind you wishing you a lot of happiness in the future. I hope that you will shine in various fields and serve as good examples for the students coming after you.”

TANIKAWA Yuna, graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry, replied on behalf of the graduates, “Thanks to the cooperation of many people, we as students of Niigata University have had valuable opportunities to grow through a variety of activities including our studies. On behalf of all graduating students and post graduates, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who supported our student life, including all the professors who guided us with great passion, all the friends who learned and grew together, our families who warmly watched over us, and the people from the local community.”

We sincerely hope that our graduates will spread their wings into society with confidence and pride and that their futures will be full of happiness.
