2022 Graduation Ceremony

Niigata University held its 2022 Graduation Ceremony at Toki Messe in Chuo-ku, Niigata City on Thursday, March 23.

A total of 3,006 students were awarded a degree or completion certificate: 2,282 bachelor's degrees, 676 graduate degrees, and 48 graduate degrees in the school nurse program. In addition, 2 students were awarded doctorate degree by dissertation. Among the students with bachelor's degrees, 66 students were awarded minor certificates, authorized for their special academic achievements outside their majors.

At the ceremony, President USHIKI presented the relevant diplomas, certificates of completion and minor certificates to the representatives of the graduating students.

President USHIKI then congratulated the graduates, saying, "Niigata University is your alma mater and your home. Take the step toward the future with the pride you learned at Niigata University. Niigata University is always behind you wishing you a lot of happiness in the future. We hope that you will maintain your bonds with the university wherever you are as you play an active role as a front runner of future life innovation. We also hope that you will shine in various fields and serve as good examples for the students coming after you."

Ms. KINOSHITA Moeka, graduating from the Faculty of Engineering, replied on behalf of the graduates, "Thanks to the cooperation of many people, we as students of Niigata University have had valuable opportunities to grow through a variety of activities including our studies. On behalf of all the graduates, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who supported our student life, including all the professors and senior students who guided us with great passion, all the friends with whom we studied together, and our families for their warm support."

We sincerely hope that our graduates will spread their wings into society with confidence and pride and that their futures will be full of happiness.
