As part of Niigata university’s Open Campus, International Exchange Center held "Niigata University Online Summer Program 2025" on August 7 and August 8 with 23 students from 14 partner universities in 7 countries/regions and 16 Niigata University students. The program was organized for NU students who wish to study abroad in the future, and for students from partner universities who are scheduled to enroll at the International Exchange Center in the fall semester of 2025. It was implemented with the aim of developing participants’ practical communication skills necessary for studying abroad.
In the program, NU students and students from partner universities were divided into groups of 3 to 4 people and worked together to plan an "international exchange event to be held at NU." Students proposed unique exchange events from their own perspectives, including activities related to food and culture. If possible, these proposed events will be supported and implemented after October.
Throughout the program, students with different backgrounds such as nationality and academic field gathered together via Zoom, enabling a global learning experience and connection that made the most of the advantages of online exchange. In addition, the program provided an opportunity to introduce Niigata University's international exchange initiatives to high school students participating in the Open Campus. Niigata University will continue to conduct a variety of international education programs in the future.
