Four students of Niigata University were tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Friday, July 31, 2020. Those four students took a trip to Osaka with the student who was first confirmed positive for COVID-19 on July 29, and PCR tests were conducted.
1. Students who were tested positive for COVID-19
(1) The student is a female in her 20's, living in Nishi-ku, Niigata city.
(2) The student is a male in his 20's, living in Nishi-ku, Niigata city.
(3) The student is a male in his 20's, living in Nishi-ku, Niigata city.
(4) The student is a male in his 20's, living in Nishi-ku, Niigata city.
2. Details of the infected students' activity
Friday, July 17 - Monday, July 20: Trip to Osaka all together by plane
Thursday, July 30: Took PCR test
Friday, July 31: Tested positive for COVID-19, and admitted to the hospitals in Niigata city
*We have been investigating the details about records of their activities and close contacts with those students.
3. Regarding the university's activity
The COVID-19 Task Force of Niigata University has been coping with this case.
