[To all NU Current Students] Important Notice Regarding the Start of Class for the 1st Semester AY2021 (Update: Mar. 26, 2021)

The subject areas out of Niigata prefecture have changed.

The guidance for AY2021 will be conducted on a different schedule depending on your Faculty/Graduate School, but it will start from April 6, and classes for the first semester will begin on April 8. Accordingly, we seek your understanding and cooperation to follow the instructions below in terms of the control measures against the spread of the novel coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19).

1. Observe the following notes when you travel out of Niigata prefecture.

(i) We advise you to avoid traveling to:
Miyagi, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Aichi, Osaka, Hyogo, and Okinawa*

(ii) Regarding areas excluding above mentioned:
When you travel to areas excluding above mentioned, you are required to make sufficient consideration of the necessity
of your journey. If you need to travel out of Niigata prefecture, please take basic infection control measures such as
wearing a mask.

(iii) *Those areas are subject to change depending on the situation of COVID-19 in Japan.

2. Refrain from holding social gathering, such as dining together with a large number of people as well as from going to crowded places.

3. Make sure to wash your hands frequently.

4. For those students who have been staying outside Niigata prefecture, they are required to return to Niigata one week before, or if possible, two weeks before their guidance starts. For one week before returning to Niigata, and for one week after returning to Niigata, please monitor your health by taking temperature, and recording all symptoms as well as record all activities you took, including the information about when, where, and who you met with.

5. In the case you have some symptoms, such as a fever, cough, sore throat, or excessive fatigue, please contact Student Affairs Office of your Faculty/Graduate School without coming to the campus.
