On Thursday, May 23, Niigata University held the Scholarship Awards Ceremony for those who excelled in their academic achievements during the past year; the students and their families attended.
Our university, to further improve students' academic performance and vitalize the entire university, granted 100,000 yen for a year to nine excellent students in each faculty: three sophomores, three juniors and three seniors. In the Faculty of Medicine, however, students in both the School of Medicine and School of Health Sciences could receive this scholarship respectively. In the College of Creative Studies, six students were chosen from sophomores and juniors.
The scholarship was awarded to a total of 108 students this year. After receiving words of encouragement from President Takahashi, a representative student acknowledged, "We will further strive to return what we learned to society in the future."
After the ceremony, students took commemorative photos with their friends and families.
The students selected for their excellence are expected to lead other students as role models.
