A student and faculty members of Niigata University (NU) cooperated in performing first aid activities at the "Iwate Morioka City Marathon 2022," and received a letter of appreciation from the organizing committee of the event on Monday, November 28.
At the marathon event, held on Sunday, October 23, a man in his 70's who was participating in the full marathon lost his consciousness and suffered a temporal cardiac arrest. The man regained consciousness on the way to hospital and was discharged safely at a later date.
Ms. YAMAZAKI Yukiho, a master's degree student at the Graduate School of Modern Society and Culture, who received the letter of appreciation, strongly stated: "I hope everyone is able to provide basic life support. I want to be a person who can act accordingly in situations like this where you never know what might happen at any moment."
