Romanian Ambassador to Japan visits Niigata University

On 16 October, 2023, H.E. Mr. DRANGA Ovidiu, Romanian Ambassador to Japan, paid a courtesy visit to Niigata University and held a discussion with President USHIKI and others at the university. NU has accepted one Romanian student as a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship student (Japanese Studies Students), and Ambassador DRANGA visited NU to express his gratitude to the university and staff members.

In addition to the Ambassador, the meeting was also attended by Mr. VLAD Cristian, CEO of Japan Creative Enterprise (JCE), the Romanian international student, and the student’s academic advisor. The Ambassador expressed his willingness to further develop exchanges between Romanian universities and NU, not only between students, but also between researchers and faculty members. The student studying Japanese language and culture at NU International Education Center talked about his dream of establishing a Japanese language school in his home country and playing a role as a bridge between Japan and Romania in the future.
