2018 Entrance Ceremony

The 2018 entrance ceremony was held at Toki Messe in Chuo Ward, Niigata City on Tuesday, April 3 with approximately 6,000 new students and family members attending. A total of 3,214 students, 2,444 to the undergraduate degree programs, 571 to the master's degree programs, 132 to the doctoral degree programs, 20 to the professional degree program, and 47 special school nursing program, enrolled in our university.

At the ceremony, President Takahashi addressed, "Now that you have become students at Niigata University, you have to acquire ability to find solutions and take actions after exploring and facing issues on your own through proactive and subjective study. You have to learn to think deeply with a broad perspective and to see, which will enable you to think about things in a more multifaceted and deeper manner." In response, Ryoko Aoki from the Faculty of Humanities pledged on behalf of the first year students, "Our role required in society is to keep on questing for the truth as university students. We will act with pride and responsibility and swear to treasure each day with gratitude for the support of many people."
