A Faculty Member of the Center for Disaster Medicine and Education was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs

On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, Specially Appointed Assistant Professor NAKAGOMI Yu of the Center for Disaster Medicine and Education was awarded a letter of appreciation at a ceremony which was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ceremony took place to honor the participants who were dispatched from Japan after 2018, and took part in international emergency relief operations abroad.
Assistant Professor NAKAGOMI, who worked as a member of the Medical Team of the Japan Disaster Relief Team (JDR), was engaged in medical activities in disaster areas of the Republic of Mozambique, which was battered by cyclone in March 2019. In addition, he worked as a member of the Infection Control Team of JDR, and provided support activities such as strengthening quarantine and offering education on infection control measures to prevent the spread of infection of the Ebola haemorrhagic fever in the eastern part of the Republic of Congo in August 2019.
