The Faculty of Dentistry Niigata University held an international symposium in Phuket, Thailand for three days, from Sunday, February 10 to Tuesday, February 12 with Khon Kaen University as a co-organizer, which has an inter-university exchange agreement.

This was the tenth symposium and was held to encourage young talent and build a network for collaborative research in Asia with the participation of a total of 100 researchers; 24 teachers and 20 graduate students from Niigata University, 15 people from Khon Kaen University, and 41 people including deans from Faculty of Dentistry at other universities from ASEAN member states. There were three special lectures given by our professors, four symposiums, 28 presentations and 11 poster sessions. Lively discussions took place throughout the symposium.
On Tuesday, February 12, the deans of each Faculty of Dentistry met and exchanged opinions on developing international collaborative research and exchanging students and young researchers. The Faculty of Dentistry Niigata University holds an international symposium annually with its overseas partner universities. We are planning to hold a collaborative symposium in Taipei with Faculty of Dentistry from seven universities in Taiwan this March, 2019.
