A Hub of Knowledge Connecting Region and World
Niigata University traces its origins back approximately 150 years and was reorganized as a national university under the new system in 1949.
Based in Niigata City, the only ordinance-designated city on Honshu's Sea of Japan coast, it has developed as a hub of knowledge connecting the region and the world, drawing on the rich nature of the Echigo Plain and the history of its port town. It now comprises 10 faculties, 5 graduate schools, affiliated hospitals, and research institutes, contributing to society through education, research, and healthcare.

Campus Guide

Niigata University has two main campuses within Niigata City.
The Igarashi Campus houses most of the liberal arts and sciences faculties, serving as the core for education and research.
The Asahimachi Campus is home to the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry, along with the affiliated hospital, providing an integrated environment for medical education, research, and clinical care.
