We would like to express our condolences to all those who were affected by 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
Do you know that support measures are provided by Niigata City and related organizations now?

Whether you live in a rental property or own your home, even if you haven’t officially registered your residency in Niigata City, you can still receive the support. Please see below for details:

This support is available to individuals and households who were affected by 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and had actual residence in Niigata City as of January 1, 2024.
・If your residence was assessed by as 'completely destroyed,' 'half destroyed on a large scale,' 'half destroyed on a medium scale,' or 'half destroyed,' you are eligible.
・The condition applies to both of renting (living in an apartment) and owning (a detached house).
・Receiving support is still possible even if you haven’t officially registered your residency in Niigata City.

To receive the support, you will need to submit the following documents along with your support application form. This is provided based on the degree of damage to the residence. The required documents may vary depending on your residential situation, so please check the Niigata City website for specific details. Should you have any inquiry, please visit the contact point. 

  1. Certificate of disaster impact
    ・If you have received the "住家被害認定調査の調査済証 (investigation certificate for residential damage assessment)" at your home, you can obtain the certificate of disaster impact.
    ・If you do not have the "住家被害認定調査の調査済証(investigation certificate for residential damage assessment)," please consult the certificate issuance desk.
  2. My Number Information: If you are unsure of your My Number, seek assistance at the disaster consultation desk.
  3. Bank Account Information: Required for receiving the support payment via bank transfer.
  4. Utility Bill or Receipt (if not registered as a resident of Niigata City)
    ・If you do not have a certificate of resident in Niigata City, you will need utility bills or receipts (e.g., water, gas) as proof that you resided there.
    ・If you do not have such bills or receipts, consult the disaster consultation contact point.

For any uncertainties or further assistance, visit the contact desk (open until March 31):'Hisai Shomei-sho Hakkou Madoguchi / Hisai Sodan Madoguchi ' Certificate of Disaster Impact Issuance Office / Disaster Consultation Center 

They also provide information other than the above support funds.
Regardless of whether you are a tenant or a homeowner, please start by visiting the consultation center.
