University Recommendation

Scholarships with University Recommendation

In the scheme of private scholarships, each Japanese University will conduct the preliminary selection and recommend their candidates to relevant organizations.

*Refer to "Individual Application" for information on scholarships that allow direct application

To be eligible for scholarships for privately-funded international students that require recommendation from the university (Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students; and other private scholarships, etc.), you must submit relevant documents including the Scholarship Application Form to the International Office for preliminary application, and schedule an interview.
Preliminary application can be made annually. Application period is in October, and interviews are held in November. Preliminary application must be made annually if you wish to be eligible for relevant scholarships.

Based on the documents submitted for the preliminary application, the committee will determine the recommendation ranking based on the year of study, academic transcript and interview results for undergraduate school students, and year of study, research assessment, and interview results for graduate school students. Recommendation ranking will be determined based on the Niigata University Recommendation Standard.
Periodically confirm the information on preliminary application posted on What's New under Scholarships and Scholarships for Privately-financed International Students on the Niigata University website as well as on bulletin boards at each Faculty and Graduate School.
