A comprehensive educational hub encompassing humanities, sciences, and medicine
Niigata University is a comprehensive university with ten faculties, ranging from humanities, education, law, and economics to science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and dentistry. The university's distinctive Faculty of Creation offers a learning approach that does not fix students to specific fields. Instead, it allows them to structure their studies around challenges and interests, developing problem-solving skills through practical experience.

Since April 2026, following the reorganization of our graduate schools, we have been promoting education that emphasizes interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinary collaboration alongside deepening specialized knowledge. Through the integration of humanities and social sciences with natural sciences, and collaboration across medical, dental, and health fields, we aim to cultivate talent capable of solving increasingly complex societal challenges and creating new value.
